Bill of Landing BOL
A Bill of Lading (BOL) is a document that is completed prior to a shipment, unlike a Proof of Delivery (POD), which is created after a delivery is made. A bill of lading is a document of title, a receipt for shipped goods, and a contract between a carrier and shipper. This document must accompany the shipped goods and be signed by an authorized representative from the carrier, shipper, and receiver. A VICS Bill of Lading is a standardized bill of lading form created by the Voluntary Inter-Industry Commerce Standards(VICS) and is primarily used for general merchandise and retail loads. EZ Loader creates all paperwork once a shipment has been inputted, making it easy to have access to the BOL as well as a POD, invoice, and rate confirmation. These documents can be easily emailed directly out of the TMS.
